At CardioServ, we’ve always believed that great cardiovascular imaging programs are built by great people. That’s why we’re excited to welcome Angela Burns, MS, ACS, RCS, as our new Director of Clinical Operations.
Angie brings nearly two decades of experience in cardiovascular imaging, sonographer education, quality improvement, accreditation, and clinical leadership. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about helping imaging teams grow, supporting professional development, and building programs that create lasting impact.
For us, this addition is about more than adding another team member. It’s about strengthening our ability to support the imaging professionals and healthcare organizations we serve every day.
A Passion for Building Programs and Developing People
One of the things that immediately stood out to us about Angie was her passion for helping others succeed.
Her career has been shaped by a commitment to education, mentorship, and professional development across multiple levels of cardiovascular care. While at Mayo Clinic, she supported cardiovascular fellows and contributed to physician education initiatives, helping advance clinical learning and professional growth.
Most recently, Angie spent six years as an Assistant Professor at St. Catherine University, where she helped develop a cardiovascular ultrasound program from the ground up. From curriculum development and clinical partnerships to student mentorship and program growth, she played a key role in creating opportunities for future cardiovascular imaging professionals.
Whether working with physicians, fellows, sonographers, or students, Angie has consistently focused on helping others build confidence, strengthen their skills, and reach their potential.
As healthcare organizations continue to navigate workforce shortages and increasing demands, her unique combination of clinical, educational, and program leadership experience brings valuable perspective to CardioServ and the organizations we serve.
Strengthening CardioServ’s MissionÂ
As Director of Clinical Operations, Angie will help support and expand many of the services our clients rely on, including:
- Peer review and quality improvement initiatives
- Accreditation readiness and ongoing quality support
- Clinical operations and program development
- Competency development and professional education
- Educational webinars and quality-focused learning programs
What excites us most is how closely Angie’s experience aligns with where CardioServ is headed.
Over the years, our work has evolved beyond accreditation support alone. Today, we’re focused on helping cardiovascular imaging programs strengthen diagnostic quality, support workforce development, and build operational systems that promote consistency and long-term success.
Angie’s background makes her an ideal fit for that mission.

When I founded CardioServ, the goal was simple: help imaging programs improve quality and deliver better patient care.
That mission remains the same today, but the challenges facing healthcare organizations have grown increasingly complex. Supporting quality now means supporting people, processes, education, and operational consistency.
From our very first conversations, I knew Angie would be a great fit for CardioServ. Her passion for education, quality, and helping others succeed reflects the values that have guided our company from the beginning.
Her experience, leadership, and commitment to developing others will help us continue supporting cardiovascular imaging programs while expanding the ways we help organizations strengthen quality from the inside out.

Getting to Know Angie
Originally from La Crosse, Wisconsin, Angie enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. When she’s not working, you’ll often find her hiking, boxing, weight lifting, camping, or exploring the outdoors with her Australian Shepherd/Border Collie, Archie.
Angie and her partner are also proud parents of a 16-year-old son.
