We are proud to welcome Don Gerig, RDCS to CardioServ as our new Medical Education Manager. Don brings nearly two decades of experience in echocardiography and accreditation leadership, combined with forward-looking expertise in AI and digital education. He has guided large, multi-site teams through successful IAC accreditation, contributed to machine learning initiatives in echocardiography, and developed proven skills in digital content creation and educational strategy. Expertise that will strengthen CME in cardiology and help drive quality improvement in cardiovascular care.
With this unique background, Don is positioned to elevate CardioServ’s mission of inspiring excellence in imaging while helping shape the next chapter of Better Cardiology. His role will focus not only on creating high-quality CME but also on expanding the reach and impact of our educational services, ensuring they truly advance cardiovascular care.
Elevating CardioServ’s Cardiovascular Educational Services in CME in Cardiology
As Medical Education Manager, Don will play a pivotal role in elevating and expanding CardioServ’s educational impact, helping us move from our current CME platform to building the future of Better Cardiology. His leadership will focus on:
- CME Course Development – reimagining the design and delivery of accredited courses to meet ACCME accreditation standards while inspiring learners with clarity and excellence.
- Better Cardiology CME Launch – shaping and elevating the experience of our new learning platform, set to debut in 2026, as a destination for high-quality cardiovascular education.
- Blog Growth & Strategy – strengthening CardioServ’s digital presence by transforming our blog into a hub of trusted, actionable, and engaging education.
- Vendor Collaborations – advancing innovation by contributing to projects such as AI machine learning verification along with other visionary initiatives that push the boundaries of cardiovascular care.
The Person Behind the Professional: Don Gerig, RDCS
Don is originally from Oregon and now lives in Central Texas with his wife Mari, their two teenage kids Evan and Avery, and their dog Cecil. Outside of work, he loves traveling with his family — especially to their favorite destination, La Paz, Mexico.
He’s a fan of historical fiction and enjoys binge-watching Narcos and Black Mirror. He’s also a tinkerer at heart, always up for learning something new, whether it’s beekeeping, woodworking, raising chickens, or fixing things around the house.
